We all have once in our lives listened to the theory that GOOGLE has its full form, but is it true? What is the full form of Google? We will try to reach out to the base of it.
As we searched and researched we got to know that Google the name was created by the founder of Google from a word googol which means or represents a huge number.
But as per the said reports we also get to know that even if it was not meant, the word Google does have a full form of its own GOOGLE: Global Organisation of Oriented Language of Earth. Even though the multinational company does not follow this full form in an official manner but it can be found as it is on the other platforms.
Google Inc is a multinational corporation rooted in the USA. In the present day scenario, Google is the most sought after search engine and this search engine specializes in Internet-related services and products. Google has forayed into many fields such as online advertising, cloud computing, search engines, software, hardware and also in applications like Google docs, Adsense, Adwords, Gmail, YouTube, etc.
How Google was started?
The company’s inception dates back to January 1996. It was a research project of two Ph.D. students of Stanford University in Stanford, California. Larry Page and Sergey Brin were the two research scholars.
They theorized a method to ease down the working of the search engine and provide with better results to the user. The two scholars named their search engine “BackRub” initially because the search engine checked the backlinks of the sites to check their popularity and relevance. Eventually, the name was changed to Google due to a misspelling of the word ‘googol’. The word googol means the number 1 followed by 100 zeroes i.e. a very big number. The word was intend3d to bring out that the search engine goes through a large quantity of information.
The domain name for Google got finally registered on 15th September 1997 before which the site ran under the domain of Stanford University. Google as a company was set up on 4th September 1998. The company was set up in the garage of a fellow Ph.D. student who later became the first hired employee of Google.

Together Larry Page and Sergey Brin the co-founders of Google hold about 14 percent shares and control the 56 percent of the stockholder voting power for the company. This way they remain active participants of the ongoings of the company. Google was incorporated as a private company on 4th September 1998. Google moved to its headquarters in Mountainview, California on August 9, 2004. The headquarters are nicknamed the Googleplex. The same day August 9, 2004, also accounts for the initial public offering (IPO) of the company.
In August 2015 a major decision was taken by Google. They decided to reorganize their interests as a conglomerate known as Alphabet Inc. Google is the leading subsidiary and the main foray for Alphabet’s Internet interests. Sundar Pichai an Indian guy became the CEO of Google as Larry Page went on to become the CEO of Alphabet.
There has been no looking back since the agglomeration. The company has witnessed rapid growth and also opened gates to new channels and technology. It has also made way for new openings, acquisitions, and incorporations. Now Google offers services designed for work and productivity, email, scheduling and management, cloud storage solutions, social networking, translation support, messaging and video chat, mapping and navigation systems, video sharing platform, and much more.
