Full form of UPSC in English: Union Public Service Commission
UPSC: Union Public Service Commission UPSC was seeded in the year 1926 in Dholpur, Shah Jahan Road, New Delhi. It conducts examinations for different prestigious posts in the government of India. These are one of the toughest and rigorous evaluations across the country.
The examinations are held in multiple tiers. These include following major examinations :
• Indian forest service commission: The exam is conducted for the recruitment of higher officials in the forestry services. These are appointed to manage ecology and forest in a scientific manner. The examination is conducted in three tiers. The first tier includes a preliminary examination, the second round involves the mains examination followed by personal interview and screening.
• Combined defense services examination: This exam is held for posts in Indian naval forces, army or Indian air force. Union public service commission conducts this exam two times in a year. There are multiple stages of recruitment. The written interview followed by an interview and medical check-up are major steps in the process.

After qualifying the two-tier evaluation you are eligible to get admitted into the following :
• Naval academy – Permanent Commission
• Indian Military Academy – Permanent Commission
• Air force academy – Permanent Commission
• Officers Training Academy, Chennai – Short Term commission
• Officers Training Academy, Non-technical – Short Term omission Graduates from various disciplines are eligible for reputed posts in Indian Army.
There are age limitations for each examination. The examination pattern varies slightly. For Naval forces, Indian Military Academy, Airforce Academy and technical posts the written examination comprises of Mathematics, English and General Knowledge.
Applicant must fulfill the eligibility of having science and mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level. For non-technical posts, graduates from any stream are eligible to apply. For General category male candidates, the application fee is INR 200. The fees are exempted for women and minority / SC/ST candidates.
• Engineering services examination: Engineering services examination is conducted by union public service commission of India for recruitment of engineers in different public sectors of the economy. Railways, roadways, energy, and telecommunication are primary recruitment areas.
Graduates in the engineering of any stream are eligible to apply for the Engineering Services Examination. The examination is conducted in two-tier. The first round consists of the objective type of questions. The second round consists of conventional engineering background questions.
• Naval academy examination: If you are someone who aspires to serve the nation as well as explore oceans then this is what you need to qualify to get into Indian Naval services.
• Combined medical services examination: All graduates of medical are eligible to apply for Combined medical services examination. The examination is conducted for the recruitment of Medicos in the Government health care system. Union public services commission conducts this exam in two-tier. The first level is written interview followed by interview and personality test.
Every year lakhs of students apply for the UPSC examination. These examinations are one of the toughest evaluations involving screening and testing at multiple levels.
