1. Amer Fort:

The most famous and a must visit place in Jaipur, that adds to the top of your list is Amer Fort. Amer is located at 12-13 kilometers from Jaipur.

Amer Fort is a majestic architecture located on a high hill. The Rajput maharajas were the residents of this palace.

It is declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013.

The fort is basically divided into four parts. It consists of Diwan-e-Aam, Diwan-e- Khas, the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace), and the Sukh Niwas where an artificial cool climate is created by the winds that blow over a specially made water place within the palace.

It starts with the main entrance gate known as Suraj Pole which leads to Jaleb chowk- it’s one of the four courtyards of Amer palace.

In the second phase, it consists of Diwan-e-Aam, where the king held a meeting to hear the problems about the common public.

Basically, it is the residence of the Royal Family of the city. It basically contains two mahals in it namely- Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal.

The other gates known as Udai pol, Virendra pol are for common people’s entrance.

4. Jantar Mantar:

Located near to City palace and Hawa Mahal comes here another remarkable destination of Jaipur.

It features the world’s largest stone Sundial, and this place has been marked as UNESCO world heritage site.

5. Jaigarh Fort:

The fort is around 10 km’s from the Jaipur city. It is located on a high hill slightly above Amber Fort.

The way to this fort leads to the path to one another fort i.e. Nahargarh fort. This fort is surrounded by a thick wall of red sandstone and the wall is around 3 km’s long.

Here there is a great collection of armory and the palace also contains Museum, which is a worth seeing.

The interesting thing here is there is a Jaivana- World’s largest cannon on wheels.

Cannon here is so large that it is fired only once from it’s made, and when it was fired nearly 30 % of people near that cannon became deaf due to its largest sound during the era of Maharajas.

This is a must-see cannon of a very large size. The public visiting timings remain the same as discussed above.

6. Nahargarh Fort:

On the way to Jaigarh Fort road also leads to Nahargarh Fort, which was a summer retreat for the maharajas. It was built in 1734 by the Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. Madhavendra Bhavan is the most interesting place to see here.

The Zenana quarters consist of 12 best identical suits, which were specially made for the ladies of the royal family. The king had nine wives.

All the nine wives were given a 2-floored apartment with a 3-side courtyard. And yeah a 4th side had the personal wing of the Maharaja.

And yes, now the most interesting thing here is the place is constructed in such a manner that if a king would visit one queen, the other was not able to know that the king visited which queen. Really interesting right!!!!!

7. Galtaji Temple:

Temple located about 10kms from Jaipur city. This temple contains 7 holy kunds among which one is Galta Kund, which is holiest and which never dry’s. The temple is in the Aravalli hills and is surrounded by dense trees and mountains.

8. Lakshmi Misthan Bhandar:

Lakshmi Misthan Bhandar also known as LMB is the best place in Jaipur to try out the pure Rajasthani Cuisine.

It is in Johari Bazar area of Jaipur. This hotel is said to be the first three-star hotel in the state.
